Maple Confections Workshop I June 9th, 2007 |

Mr. Steve Childs, Cornell University, presented a workshop for maple producers on how to make various Maple Confections. The workshop was attended by sugar makers from both Northwestern Pennsylvania and Northeastern Ohio. Mr. Childs was assisted by Dr. Robert Hansen, Penn State Cooperative Extension Service. Together they demonstrate techniques for testing and blending syrup, then using the blended syrup to make confections such as cream and candy. The workshop was a combination of lecture and hands on practice. A follow up Maple Confections II workshop has already been scheduled for early June 2008. |
